Quick verdict
A strong choice for listening to AM and FM in the shower, with a weather alert function. The Sangean H201P and Sangean H202 are close alternatives.
The Sangean H205 is a battery powered AM and FM shower radio with a weather alert function. It is built for steamy bathrooms, and it is one of the sturdier shower radios available for anyone who wants real radio reception while getting ready in the morning.
What you get
The H205 is waterproof and comes with an owner manual, an FM antenna and a hanging strap. It has a built-in clock with adjustable sleep and nap timers, a built-in AM antenna, and an FM and weather alert pigtail antenna. It runs on batteries.
What I like
The construction is the standout. The case is thick and heavy with rubber gaskets, so it feels like proper equipment and not a throwaway bath toy. Digital presets make it quick to jump between stations, and the sound is loud enough to cover running water. The hanging strap makes it easy to position where you want it.
Things to know
The radio is on the bulky side. The weather alert button sits where your thumb naturally rests on some units, and a few buyers say it is easy to press by accident, so handle it with that in mind. One buyer also notes that the listing does not state the battery size, so check the owner manual before buying batteries. A handful of owners report reliability problems after months of daily steam, so keep your receipt and use the manufacturer warranty if you need it.
Bottom line
For listening to AM and FM in the shower, the H205 is a strong choice. To compare options, the H201 and H202 shower radios on this site are close alternatives.
